    Stated Resolution: The Faculty Senate is opposed to the UCO Student Association’s (UCOSA) proposal to revise the Faculty Handbook to prohibit the imposition of any coursework, including, but not limited to class room assignments, homework, projects, presentations, papers, etc., and/or any quizzes or other examinations during Quiet Week at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO).

    Resolution Name: Resolution for the creation and recognition of an ad hoc Faculty/Student Study Group for Equitable State Funding.

    Stated Resolution: The Faculty Senate resolves to establish an ad hoc Faculty/Student Study Group for Equitable State Funding. This Study Group should be composed of faculty, staff, student, alumni and community representatives, to include active members of the Faculty Senate and the UCO Student Association. The creation of the Study Group will provide a needed forum and channel through which interested parties may pursue equitable allocation of Oklahoma and Regent operational funding for the University of Central Oklahoma.

    Stated Proposal: The UCO Faculty Handbook Section 2.3.2 (Specific Areas of Academic Responsibility) to be amended to include proposed language to be shown in section IV below.

    On page 2‐5 of the Faculty Handbook, the additional verbiage to be inserted between the existing lines as shown below:

    ‐ Clearly communicating course objectives, policies, and requirements to students through the syllabus as well as other course‐related documents.

    NEW ‐ adhere to the educational philosophy and support the components of transformative learning as appropriate. (See Transformative Learning website.)

    Proposal Name: Proposal for the development of a feasibility study that examines the merits of creating a Lifelong Learning Institute within a Continuing Education Program operated by the University of Central Oklahoma.

    Stated Proposal: The Faculty Senate proposes that the University of Central Oklahoma should explore the merits of developing a Lifelong Learning Institute aligned with a Continuing Education Program, in order to expand UCO’s Metropolitan University roll within the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. The development of the Lifelong Learning Institute should be conceived to operate in coordination with all of UCO’s existing continuing education offerings, in order to orchestrate a unified Continuing Education Program. Innovative programming concepts should develop course offerings for diverse age groups at facilities available to UCO within the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. Therefore, a feasibility study should be undertaken to examine the availability of income generating opportunities, grants, and other financial sources with which to operate the Program. The study would also need to establish the range of community interests that can be served by innovative programming offered through the Program.
