The Marketing Department
The mission of the Marketing Department at the University of Central Oklahoma is to provide a dynamic learning environment where students develop a personal lifelong learning strategy. Students will be exposed to both academic and practical experiences in marketing to equip them with the intellectual and professional knowledge and skills necessary for entry level and advanced marketing and business positions in the regional, national, and global marketplace.
Marketing is people oriented; marketers perform various activities in an organization that link the organization to the marketplace outside.
Some of the more visible activities marketers perform are advertising, customer service, personal selling, sales promotion, publicity, public relations, merchandising, and transportation.
Marketers also work behind the scenes in: strategic planning, inventory control, purchasing, market research, new product and market development, branding, and forecasting.
Department Spotlight

The UCO sponsored chapter of the AMA Collegiate Marketing Association won first place in the local video competition. The club earned a $1000 scholarship to help them defray out-of-pocket expenses to attend the National Conference in New Orleans in March.
